Our Mission: We feel the best place for preschool children to learn and develop is in the home, surrounded by a loving family. We also know that it is sometimes difficult in today’s world for this to occur, due to economic necessities, which may compel both parents to enter the work force. What we hope to achieve is a program which provides the highest degree of care and nurturing, based upon the Biblical principles of love, instruction, and discipline. It is our sincere hope that our Early Learning Center will not be seen as a substitute for the home, but as an acceptable childcare alternative for those who need it.
Our Goal: As a school accredited by the National Christian School Association (NCSA), Jefferson Christian Academy permeates faith-based themes and teachings throughout your child's school journey. This principle carries over to our Early Learning Center. Our continuous curriculum promotes engaging Biblical themes, supported by weekly interactive Bible stories and Bible verses. Classroom enrichment lessons that promote social and emotional growth, development of fine motor skills, and schedules to promote structure are also taught. Our children will develop social skills through organized center time and “free” playtime. They will broaden their knowledge by being read to, listening to music and singing, learning from others through play and sharing of toys.
Our most important goal is that our children will develop a love for God and the Bible. Children will receive religious training based upon the precepts of Biblical Christianity, free of man-made creeds or doctrine.
Our Program: The Jefferson Christian Academy Early Learning Center is designed for children 8 weeks to 3 years old. Hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays). Children are admitted to the program on a space available basis, without regard for race, religion, sex, or national origin. Although every effort will be made to accommodate children with special physical needs, the JCA Early Learning Center is not equipped to care for children with severe physical, mental or emotional disabilities.
Our program is designed to aid in the development of gross and fine motor skills, and the socialization process, while continuing a strong Biblical foundation. Each class has a daily structure that gives your child a balance between learning time, free play, and structured play to ensure they are engaged physically, mentally, and emotionally while maintaining a sense of consistency and routine. A continuous curriculum is introduced in our Crawler room, and grows with them through the Toddler, K2 and K3 classes. Our developmentally appropriate curriculum ages with your child, building on itself each year to maintain consistency and growth while promoting retention and development. The Crawler Class curriculum consists of a weekly concentration on a selected color, shape, animal, sign language character, and a fine and gross motor skill. A weekly Bible story, Bible song, poem and book are also part of the curriculum. The Toddler Class curriculum will be adding aspects of self care, self awareness, and manners as well as introducing a weekly memory verse. The K2 class curriculum will add aspects of Math and Rhyme. The K3 curriculum continues with that while adding aspects of Science and Visual Perception. The most important aspect of our curriculum is consistency, routine, and a Biblical foundation.
We hope that you and your child will find the time spent at Jefferson Christian Academy Early Learning Center to be both educational and pleasurable
