Middle School at the Botanical Gardens

On Friday, October 22, 2010, Mrs. Hurst‟s Science classes took a field trip to the Botanical Gardens. The students participated in a hands-on discovery. The students discovered how animals need plants, as well as ways woodland plants depend on animals. Students searched the Barber Alabama Woodlands and found evidence of all kinds of creatures who live there. The students also participated in a guided bird walk sponsored by the Birmingham Audubon Society. Students identified various types of birds with the use of binoculars.
